They're seniors who are in charge of making sure our skirts are long enough and all that stuff. Anyway, I was walking there, real poised and everything when suddenly, the Senior Officer grabbed my hand and took a look at it. I thought she was looking at the mood ring I had on but then she said, "Your fingernails are long." And then I was like, "Yeah? So?" She looked like she was on the verge of cussing at me but she couldn't do that because she is a Senior Officer. So she let go of my hand, took down my name and off I was. No big deal, but it was the first time in my life that I answered back to someone in authority. And my nails aren't that long anyway; my nails look hideous when they're short. Tomorrow, I'm going to wear nail polish. Tomorrow is class picture day! I'm going to wear my contact lenses so I won't be remembered as "Daria" in freshman year. The whole class is thinking of doing braids on each other so our hair would look identical on the picture. It'll look interesting, I guess. I'll see if I can scan it when I get it. Rhea told me this afternoon that Mako told her that he had a crush on me. How I wish it was true! Okay, I know I've said that I'm cute, smart and popular but I don't think that I am cute, smart and popular enough for him--or any guy for that matter--to have a crush for me. With the exception for John Kim, of course, but that's another story. I don't really think that he's human. If the rumor is true (but I doubt it, really), I will ask him out! No kidding, I really will. My phone's busted! I don't believe it. It started goofing up Friday night. Alex and I were yakking away on the phone when suddenly, there was this buzzing noise and then it stopped working. There wasn't any dial tone and when I punched the keys I didn't hear anything. It was really dead. And the thing was, the second after it stopped working, I checked the time and it was exactly midnight. Creepy. Anyway, it started working again ten minutes or so later. Alex called back and we resumed conversation but I couldn't stay for long because Mom woke up and I had to go to bed (I had rehearsals the next day). Now, the phone is not working at all. Great. Enough of airheaded, pointless, thirteen-year-old talk. I can't wait till I turn fourteen. <<< ~ sign ~ archives ~ >>> |
